Easy Rest Platinum Bed Model More Information

"I almost didn’t buy the bed! Thank you….I have never slept so well. And the discolored skin around my feet and toes has gone away – the result of better circulation because I can sleep with my feet slightly elevated. I bought the Premiere model. The latex mattress is worth the full price of the bed. The massage system was, for me, an extra…until I used it. It’s great for relaxation. Now, two months later it was the best personal care investment I ever made!"

W. Pardue, Jr., Florida

Our favorite feature is the massage. We turn it on when we go to bed and usually we are both asleep before it automatically shuts off. Our adjustable bed will give us pleasure for the rest of our lives. Thank you for many, many wonderful nights of sleep.

Mr. & Mrs. D. LuComptri, Missouri

"We have enjoyed our bed more than I have words to express. We are both sleeping better than we have for five years. Being able to raise both the head and feet is really super. We had no concept of how much benefit we’d receive from the massage, too. It’s better than a sleeping pill!"

Mr. & Mrs. M. Aubert, Minnesota

"This was an excellent purchase! My husband sleeps in the bed now. After months mostly spent in his recliner, he now rarely gets up at night. He brags about how well he sleeps. I am getting better rest and sleep since he’s not disturbing me with his ups and downs. Hooray!"

Caring for Your Bed

The following tips will help extend the life of your new Easy Rest Adjustable Bed.

Do:

  1. Rotate your adjustable mattress from head to foot once a month. When a bed is in the “sitting” position, 60 percent of the person’s weight is concentrated on a small area, which might cause temporary depressions. Monthly rotation gives the mattress the opportunity to recover.
  2. Check your power cord and wired hand control cord (if applicable) for damage regularly. Occasionally we find that a bed pushed too close to a wall can damage the power plug, as it brushes against the wall while being adjusted. Household pets have also been known to chew on electrical wires.

Don’t:

  • Overload the wall outlet by plugging in too many appliances. It’s a good idea to have only the bed plugged into the outlet.
  • Sit on the edge of the mattress. Adjustable mattresses are constructed with a soft edge, which allows them to bend. Sitting on the edge will cause the mattress to deform more easily than a traditional flat bed.
  • Sit on the foot of the bed at any time. This puts extra stress on the motor and the excess weight may cause the unit to fail.
  • Worry if the texture of the mattress ticking (the protective fabric cover encasing the mattress) rubs against the texture of the base cover and produces a corduroy or bumping effect when the bed is raised or lowered. This is a normal result of friction and will soon wear off with use. If you must stop the problem before the bed is worn in, you can purchase a gripper sheet that can be inserted between the mattress and base as a temporary solution. These gripper sheets can be found at most linen/household stores.
  • Worry if you notice a little bit of slipping between the mattress and the base as you break-in your new bed. A piece of foam or gripper sheet will minimize the effect. However, please note that some movement will always occur due to the adjustability features of your new bed.

Troubleshooting Problems

If there is no power to the bed:

  • Check to see that the bed is plugged into the wall.
  • Check to see if the household circuit is working.
  • Check to see if the outlet that the bed is plugged into is controlled by a wall switch which has been turned off.
  • Check your power cord for damage. Occasionally we find that a bed pushed too close to a wall can damage the plug as it brushes against the wall while being adjusted.
  • If you have a memory system on your model, you may need to reset the memory. Unplug the power cord, wait ten seconds, and then plug it back into the outlet. (Refer to the instructions that came with your hand control.)
  • If you have a wireless remote control for the bed and you’re sure you’re getting power from the wall outlet, the batteries in your remote might be dead. Replace the four AA batteries and try again. (You may need to reprogram the remote after changing batteries – see directions below.)

If your dual beds are not even with one another:

  • Move the beds back into position so that they are even with each other. Check to make sure that all wheels are in the locked position.

If your mattress and bed base are not the exact same dimensions:

  • Occasionally shipping, handling and warehouse storage will cause a compression in the length of the mattress due to the way it’s transported and stored. It may appear to be shorter than the foundation by as much as a couple of inches. The mattress will relax and stretch out again within 30 days of use.

If the batteries die on your wireless remote control, you may need to reprogram the memory. Follow these directions:

For the Premier Model Adjustable Bed:

  • Unplug the bed from the wall outlet and wait 30 seconds before plugging it back into the wall.. On the hand control, push the “head up” and “flat” buttons at the same time for 30 seconds. The indicator light will flash rapidly while the buttons are depressed. After 30 seconds the remote should be operational.

For the Platinum Model Adjustable Bed:

  • Unplug the bed from the wall outlet and wait 30 seconds before plugging it back into the wall. On the hand control, push the “POS 1” button on the top left and under the head buttons push the “ON/OFF” button on the bottom right at the same time for 30 seconds. The indicator light will flash rapidly while the buttons are depressed. After 30 seconds the remote should be operational.
